As chief operating officer, Tom Carothers brings over 30 years of technology industry leadership experience in manufacturing, sales, service, engineering, and quality control. His chief responsibility is to ensure KLD’s business operations are aligned with the company’s rapid growth objectives.
As past vice president and general manager for DEC, Dell, Compaq, and other multinational corporations, Carothers specializes in business management and development in Europe and Asia. Prior to joining KLD, Carothers served as the chief executive officer of five startups in both the U.S. and Europe. He directed service operations for Vintage IT Services, an Austin-based managed services company and was the vice president of field operations for Essentia Services, a Web browser compatibility company based in India. Carothers received his Bachelor’s Degree in business from East Carolina College and holds an advanced international management diploma from Harvard Business School at INSEAD in France.
