KLD commits to be a steward of the environment through sustainable business practices that help preserve the earth’s health and resources.
The requirements listed below apply to all of KLD’s operations. Every employee shall bear a personal responsibility for the following objectives:Compliance
- Meet or exceed all applicable environmental requirements for all KLD activities, products, and services, including but not limited to: legal requirements, and company standards, and voluntary commitments to sustainable practices.
Prevention of Pollution
- Use sustainable business practices and processes that: minimize waste, promote safe and responsible disposal methods, prevent pollution, conserve energy, minimize KLD’s carbon footprint, and diminish health and safety risks.
Product Environmental Leadership
- Conserve natural resources by: developing products and packaging that minimize materials usage, using recycled and environmentally preferable materials, and maximizing reuse and recycling opportunities at the end of the product’s life.
- Develop, manufacture, and market products that are energy efficient and have minimal environmental impact.
Continual Improvement
- Strive to continually improve KLD's environmental management system and performance.
- Work with KLD’s supply chain to improve environmental protection and promote the use of environmentally preferable technologies and practices.
- Be an environmentally responsible neighbor in the communities where we operate, and act promptly and responsibly to correct conditions that may endanger health, safety, or the environment.
- Provide appropriate resources to fulfill these objectives.
Corporate strategies, policies and guidelines must support this commitment to leadership in environmental affairs. Every employee of KLD must follow this policy and report any environmental, health, or safety concerns to KLD management, who must take prompt corrective action.
